What began in a small apartment in Tugun, Queensland in 2004 has grown into a trusted premium apparel supply and decoration business servicing clients across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Auckland, Wellington and beyond.

2004 — The OCC Apparel Journey Begins
Tugun, QLD, Australia — Sand Street Apartment
OCC Apparel began in a small apartment on Sand Street in Tugun, Queensland.
There was no warehouse. No large team. No major infrastructure.
Just a belief that premium garments, trusted supply partners and quality decoration could create something different within the Australian custom apparel industry.
At the time, we became the official Australian distributor of Beneficial Ts by Patagonia — the first 100% organic cotton t-shirts available to Australian business clients for custom branding, decoration and rebranding.
Organic cotton apparel was still relatively unknown in the Australian merchandise and promotional apparel industry. But we believed businesses would increasingly value higher quality garments, sustainable materials and products designed to last.
Quality and stock control were key priorities from day one.
The “global head office” featured a fax machine sitting in the spare bedroom.
The foundations of OCC Apparel were established early:
- Premium quality garments
- Organic cotton apparel
- Strong customer relationships
- Quality decoration outcomes
- Long-term thinking
These principles still guide OCC Apparel today.
2005 — The Farmers Market
Brisbane, QLD, Australia — Organic Farmers Market
This was where the OCC Apparel concept truly came to life.
We had the garments. We had a business name. We had handmade signage, a printed price list and even pizza boxes for customers wanting to gift organic cotton t-shirts.
But would people buy them?
More importantly — would they come back?
The answer was yes.
We sold our first sagebrush organic cotton t-shirt.
The following week the same customer returned and bought another.
Then came the next question:
“Can you print our business logo on these?”
That first custom apparel order was for 50 branded t-shirts.
A small order at the time — but a defining moment for OCC Apparel.
It confirmed something important:
People valued premium garments and quality screen printing when the product genuinely felt better.
This early experience helped shape OCC Apparel into a premium custom apparel supplier focused on quality garments, professional decoration and apparel designed to actually be worn beyond the event.
2007 — EARTH POSITIVE
100% Organic Cotton. Climate Neutral. Premium Quality.
As OCC Apparel continued building within the organic cotton apparel space, we discovered Earth Positive— a UK-based premium apparel brand focused on organic cotton, Climate Neutral manufacturing and responsible production.
At the time, support for premium sustainable apparel in Australia was extremely limited.
Finding Earth Positive felt like finding our tribe.
We made contact, established the relationship, and became the Australian dealer — importing our first container of Earth Positive organic cotton t-shirts into Australia.
The partnership helped OCC Apparel continue expanding access to:

- Sustainable custom apparel
- Climate Neutral garments
- Premium screen printing blanks
- Ethical merchandise solutions
Earth Positive remains one of the world’s leading sustainable apparel brands and continues to play an important role within the OCC Apparel product offering.

2008 — AS Colour
Quality is Key. Respect the Details. Have the Stock.
In 2008, OCC Apparel partnered with AS Colour— one of New Zealand’s leading premium blank apparel brands.
Known for consistency, stock availability, premium construction and modern fits, AS Colour became an important part of OCC Apparel’s growing premium apparel offering.
As demand increased for higher quality branded apparel, merch and uniforms, reliable access to premium blank garments became increasingly important.
The partnership helped OCC Apparel continue supporting businesses looking for:

As OCC Apparel expanded further into premium sustainable apparel, we discovered Stanley/Stella — a European premium apparel brand focused on organic cotton, responsible manufacturing, modern fits and elevated retail-quality garments.
This partnership represented another important step forward for OCC Apparel.
